Long-handle tongs are essential tools for assisting in the transfer and capping of radiation sources, as well as the transfer and placement of lead plugs. They are used for gripping radiation sources during operations involving higher activity levels. They can also be used for handling, moving radioactive materials, and suspicious chemical and biological hazardous substances; capable of withstanding alpha, beta, and gamma rays without changes after radiation exposure, suitable for remote operations to reduce personnel radiation exposure doses and minimize harm from radioactive materials.
Product Features:
l The long-handle tongs feature a quick-change jaw function. Each pair of jaws consists of two arc-shaped stainless steel strips with a thickness of not less than 3mm and equal length, connected to the tong head via two bolts.
l Length: Total length ≥1500mm, ensuring a distance of not less than 1200mm between the operator and the radiation source.
l Angle: The angle between the tong head and the handle rod is adjustable within a 90° range.
l The tong head is naturally open and can be closed by pressing the handle, enabling the gripping of encapsulated containers or radiation sources. The maximum opening of the tong head is ≥100mm.
l Composition: Equipped with no less than 2 sets of jaws of different lengths. The radiation source operation rod consists of a handle, rod, tongs, and jaws. It is simple to operate and can accurately and safely move radioactive targets. It can withstand alpha, beta, and gamma rays without changes after radiation exposure.
